What should you expect when building your new home? Many people ask how long it takes to build a house. Below is a brief description of what steps are necessary to complete a home. Of course, each project is unique, and the following steps are only a guideline. Weather conditions, timing, scale, and other factors are key to determine length of a project.

BUDGET Determining the amount you can afford to spend is accomplished by preliminary talks with your Lender as well as your own budget. Try the online affordability calculator we provide to the left. |

SITE Determining where to build (if you don't already own your site). The purchase price of the site is a large portion of the total investment. The site also can determine, to a certain extent, the type of house to be built as well as the floorplan or layout. |

DESIGN Knowing how much you're willing to spend and where you plan on building will greatly determine the size, style, and specifications of your home. If you already have a plan, an estimate will be created. If a plan is needed, we will work together to create a plan based on your wants and needs as well as the answers derived form Steps 1 & 2. Before the final plans are drawn, estimates are given to determine if we're in budget. If not, revisions are made until we are in budget. |

LOAN Financing your project. Once plans and specifications are complete and a final budget is set, interim financing can be obtained to start the project. If you do not already have a Lender, we will be happy to refer you to established local companies for financing. |
